Saturday—Tidy your nightstand(s)—Straighten things up. Get rid of stuff that isn’t needed there and then run a power strip along the back so you can charge your gadgets out of sight.
Sunday—Corral Books—Keep your favorites and put others you don’t want to keep in a box to donate to friends, family or a local thrift store. Maybe be creative and come up with some cute book ends by spray painting some rocks to go with the décor of the room they are in.
Monday—Start a New Laundry Regimen—Give each family member their own basket so clothes can be collected easily and in turn, returned to their rooms with clean, folded clothes ready for them to put away!
Tuesday—Stack Shoes—Put them in clear plastic shoe boxes, then pile them in the closet, so you will be able to see your favorites and keep things organized and tidy in there!
Wednesday—Rearrange Underwear Drawers— Use dividers to separate underwear and socks. Get rid of anything that is unmatched or has seen better days.
Thursday—Streamline the Linen Closet—Keep 2 sets of sheets per bed (one for on the bed, one for in the laundry) and keep the sets together (sheets, pillow cases etc). That way you can grab a set and change out the beds when you need to. If you have limited space, keeping the sheets in the bedrooms (either in the closet or in a dresser) can free up towel space in your linen closet as well. Fold all towels the same so that they will fit neatly on the shelves. Get rid of ratty old towels while you are in there as well!
Friday—Pantry Time—Head into the pantry (or the cabinets where you store all the food) and go through all the half-filled boxes and either put them in something air tight or pitch them! Also go through dates to be sure everything is current and keep like things together as you go.
Saturday Again—Declutter the Bath—Hang up towels, poufs and loofahs (replace if needed) and minimize bottle clutter. Either put some shampoos or body washes in pretty bottles, combine or replace the ones you have been trying to get the last drop out of. Have you bought products but didn’t like them YET they sit in the shower JUST IN CASE you will possibly use them? PITCH THEM! You already wasted your money on something you don’t like—don’t waste your precious space too!
After a week, you will come up with other ‘quick’ things to do in the next week—here are a few bonus things that just take seconds to do:
Utensils—Scrap any unused or duplicate flatware and tools in the kitchen and invest in separators to keep drawers neat.
Cord Clutter—Store cables and chargers that get regular use in a bag or basket and recycle the rest.
Cleaners—Only keep cleaners you really use and keep them in the rooms you use them. If you have more than one bathroom, each will have their own supplies, plus paper towels etc, so you have everything you need whenever you need to spruce things up!
