Dirty Dishes - The first obvious thing that makes the kitchen look messy are dirty dishes or dishes in the sink. After you use a dish or utensil, pop it in the dishwasher! It holds more than your sink does and a nice door hides the dirty dishes, too!
Ugly Un-Organization - It's not good enough to just hide things behind doors, though, like in your cabinets. Keep things organized in there so you can easily find what you need. If things are stacked nicely, you can put all sorts of stuff in a small space. Things will look nice (and not fall out) when you open the door in front of others!
Magnet Mayhem - We all want to display things that are important to us, but too much on the kitchen fridge can give a messy look. Having a nice, clean fridge door will keep that nice appearance (even if the inside still needs a good wipe down)! Put the Kiddo's artwork on a bulletin board with other things you want to keep handy.
Cluttered Countertops - Put away those appliances if you can! A bunch of stuff on your countertops (no matter how fancy your food processor is) can make your kitchen looked messy. You may not be able to stash everything, but just put up a few more things and see how much better your kitchen feels!
Catch-All Kitchen - The kitchen is usually the "hub" of our lives, but, we all don't just live in the kitchen, or the "Tiny House" shows wouldn't be anything new. So don't dump everything in the kitchen like it's the only room in the house! It's not the mudroom, or the living room or the coat closet, so put up your stuff in the right rooms! Keeping your kitchen for it's main purpose (preparing and serving FOOD) will make it look much less messy and keep your HUB humming beautifully!
