Don't have a lot of time or money for a makeover? Here are a few things you can do to achieve what sort of style you want in your space.
Comfy & Cozy - If the space you are making over needs to be more comfortable for you or your guests, then you need comfortable furniture (and plenty of it) for great seating. Opening up a space so that it doesn't feel too crowded will help as well as adding some cozy fabrics. Also, make sure the space feels lived-in. A sterile, perfect environment doesn't speak comfy and cozy!
Light & Bright -If your space is dark and gloomy, there are a few things you can do to change it! Light paint, color accessories and a touch of something new will bring out the brightness. Amp up your lighting and see if new window coverings can change the look as well.
Wonderful Workspace - Your home office needs to be a place you actually like to work, so be sure to make it feel good in there. Put up some of your favorite artwork in the space for inspiration, add your favorite color in places around the room and be sure you have good task lighting to avoid eye strain while you work. This might be a good time to add a storage piece of furniture if you are lacking in this area as well!
Pretty as a Picture - In a space that needs to feel more pretty, there is removable wallpaper that you can put up in small or large amounts to add some quick pastel colors, patterns and interest in a room. Add some matching storage items or accessories with a little "bling" and don't forget live houseplants! They add beauty and are good for you to have around as well.
Calm & Quiet - If the room that needs a quick makeover needs to make you feel relaxed and calm, the first thing to do is remove clutter! Find clever, hidden ways to store things that you use in the space as well. Put decor items in the room that when you see them, make you feel peaceful and serene. Use muted or neutral colors and soft textures in the space for that calm and quiet feeling.
It won't take long and your home will be even more perfectly suited for your needs.
