Interior Design is an ever changing force of nature. Trends come and go and a lot of us don't want to be left behind. So, if you are up for an upgrade in your home decor, here are a few top ideas for inspiration:
Be Modern - One of the trends that is big right now is incorporating metals into your decor. Metal isn't something new it itself. What is different, however, is using a few different types of metal in the same space to compliment each other. Maybe a soft shiny metal with a matte darker metal in the same space. It can give a space a rich, modern feel. Try several different types of metal in a space and see how they work together.
Be Bold & Different - Using things you love and that show your personality are one way to add some drama to your space. Try a bold color you love as an accent or use some eclectic items that have a similar color, shape or style. Make a statement about YOU.
Be Soft - Pastel colors can be soothing, romantic and if you want them to be, can be very feminine. Proper use of this color palette can take a dull, dark room and make it feel peaceful, happy and clean. Pastels add color but have a white or cream base which in turn makes them "bright" in light, but not color.
Be Natural - Bring some of the outdoors, indoors, by using earthy tones, textures and organic accessories. This style give a comfortable "homey" feeling and can be quite relaxing as well.
Be One With the Space - Using one color (or a color in different shades) can bring unity to throughout a space. When your eye looks across the room, it's not stopped by any piece that just stands out. It all flows together. The interest is added through the different patterns and textures rather than color. It will feel effortless.
All of these "trends" are rooted in basics in design. You can add any of these elements and it can be timeless as well as on point.--Jen Lush
