Air quality is something to consider not only when you are outside, but also inside of your home. Here are some simple tips to freshen and improve your home's Inside Air.
Open a Window - If you cook with gas or propane, crack a window while you cook to eliminate or dilute carbon monoxide and formaldehyde. Also, other things in our home can let off toxins in the air such as new carpet or flooring. It's good to air out your home every so often!
Conquer Dust - Using a vacuum's attachments to dust in between your light dusting can conquer dust better. Use on drapes and furniture to get the dust your normally don't get when you use your dust cloth and it's good to dust your mattress each season as well.
Add Plants - House plants help your air in general, but, golden pothos, palms, peace lilies and Alii ficuses all help filter formaldehyde in the air and other toxins.
No Aerosol Cans - Use refillable spray bottles for your cleaners and pumps where you can to limit potentially harmful substances like butane and propane.
Change Filters - Change your furnace filters as needed by your model of furnace. If you use a CPAP machine when you sleep, be sure to keep all the components clean and change the filter in your unit monthly. You want that air to stay good, too!
