Not only is it this time of year when school starts, but we are getting closing to the last quarter of our business schedules too. Time to end the year with a positive BANG in our businesses!
Size Up What's Left - Check out your goal list(s) for the year and see what you have (and haven't) accomplished and make a new priority list to get things done. Only when you have an accurate picture of what still needs to be accomplished, can you make a plan to finish the job or project you need to.
Line Up Workers - Figure out who it will take to get those goals accomplished. Who is the best person to tackle this or that project and if you are lacking, see who you can add to your team to get the other things done as well. It may be a good time to move some people around to have all your bases covered. Just because Jim has always done a specific task, doesn't mean someone else can't cover that so you can have Jim try something new and help him expand his horizons too. If it's just you in your office, maybe line up others to take on personal tasks, so you can get more done for your business.
Teaching Time - Of course, with changes in focus and people changing positions of responsibilities, there may need to be some teaching time added to the picture as well. Make sure you don't overload someone that doesn't have the right tools for the job. Make time to schedule teaching time or for others to schedule some elsewhere if they need to. Be flexible for others and if it's just you, always find ways to keep training and learning things for yourself too.
Rewards - When you are pushing toward the end of the year goals, adding some incentives to your team or even to yourself is a good way to get some positive momentum going! They don't have to be expensive, budget busting rewards. People love recognition for a job well done so think of ways you can express your gratitude for their help. If it's just you in your business, I am sure your family has had to sacrifice your and their time to help you be a success, so reward them too. A little love goes a long way!
I hope these small suggestions can inspire you to make the most out of the rest of your business year and help you to be more successful than ever!
Until Next Time!
