Fall is one of my favorite times of year and (generally) the weather is a little cooler without being too cold to enjoy.  Here are some entertaining ideas to use to make the most of this beautiful time of year!

Nature’s Decor – Use the beautiful foliage that this time of year provides for your color scheme and add the natural details of gourds, pumpkins, straw bales, cornstalks and leaves.  These simple things you can find in your yard or a farmer’s market can add so much beauty without a high end price.

Creative Seating – Since you are outdoors, maybe use some hay bales for seating or some vintage furniture with various seating options you have from around the house.  If there is a chill in the air, maybe include a few throws for guests to wrap around their shoulders if they get chilly.

Fall’s Favorite Foods – Of course, the menu should include all of the wonderful flavors of the fall.  Apples, pumpkin, warm soups and stews.  Serve on vintage plates with rustic charm.  No need to match!

Coziness is Key – No matter what you ultimately choose for decor or the menu, make sure it gives your guests a cozy feel.  Enhance the beauty of the season and embrace the slight chill by providing comfortable seating and warming dishes.  And, when all else fails, just gather around a small fire and roast some marshmallows or hot dogs.  Who says that isn’t cozy?!
