I know all of us are pretty tired of hearing about "cleaning" anything, but, it is that time of year when we need to super clean some extra areas of our homes!
Curb Appeal - Vacuum and shake out or replace doormats and wipe down doors if needed. Clean windows outside first, by using some dish soap in a bucket to scrub, then hose off. Clean the inside of your windows on an overcast day so you can see if you are leaving streaks. Window cleaner works, but, a few drops of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle of water works wonders, too. Don't forget to scrub up and rinse any outdoor furniture as well!
Kitchen - Now is the time to clean your sink (depending on what you sink is made of, look up what works best on your sink). Also, there are some things you can use to clean your garbage disposal as well. Throw your grocery totes in the washer if they are fabric, or wipe out with disinfectant wipes if not. Depending on what your counter tops are made of, clean and seal as needed. Clean up your cookware, appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, washer, dryer and vacuum as well) and wipe those cabinets down!
Bathrooms - Wash or replace shower curtains, scrub shower doors, super clean grout and the shower drain.
Organization - Go through junk drawers, your make up stash and clean your make up brushes.
Decor - Vacuum your fabric furniture (safely of course), clean your window treatments and wipe down those shelves. Check your ceilings for cobwebs and time to wash up your bedding and flip that mattress.
Family Stuff - Of course, you can ask your family to help as well! Have the kids go through their toys, sorting what to donate, throw out and just put away properly. Go through closets with the kids, checking to see what fits, what doesn't and making a list what they may need (including shoes, purses and other accessories). Also, get everyone helping clean the electronics in the home with the proper materials. Phones, computers and TVs could stand to be wiped down, for sure.
Some of these things are cleaned more than once a year, but, these are just a few things to get you started on a good spring cleaning session in your home this year! Check out the link below to see what other things you may want to add to your spring cleaning list.
