Spring brings a lot of changes. Things are changing outside, plans gear up at school and work starts pushing full force with the winter out of the way. With everything happening at once, the more prepared you are, the more you will set your home, family and work up for success for the rest of the year!
In the Home - Right now is the time to get your indoor yearly cleaning tasks done, because when the nicer weather is in full force, you won't want to be stuck inside doing lengthy chores that you have put off for a year. Make a list of all the things you would like to get done so that all summer you won't have to worry about them! Time to dust out the cobwebs, clean up the windows inside and clean up your appliances. Change out bedding for something less heavy and rotate your wardrobe so that your spring and summer clothing is more easily accessible. Fix those things you have been meaning to fix and take inventory of the kids may need for summer clothing if they have outgrown last years.
In the Garden - Outside get your garden bed ready for planting now, so that when the weather is ready to plant things, you won't have to clean it all out before you can plant! Remove any debris that was left over from last year, fertilize, and cultivate some rich soil into the bed . You will have it all prepped and ready, then you can just plant your favorites when it's the perfect time.
For the Kids - I already mentioned going through your kids spring and summer wardrobes to see if they still fit in last year's clothes, but, this is the time to get all their spring and summer activities on the calendar so you know what is happening when. You don't want to miss deadlines for those swimming lessons or team try-outs. Also, planning your vacations around those activities needs to happen sooner rather than later, so you aren't caught off guard and have an upset child that misses out on something because of a scheduling error.
At Work - Now is the time to check in with your work goals to see if where you are headed is right in line to where you want it to be. If not, now is the time to adjust things so that you will better meet those goals you have been working for. Also, check in with your team to see how you can better help them meet their goals and maybe add some new ones to the list if you can. If you have been putting off some projects until the spring arrives, start planning on how you are going to implement them now, so you will be ready when spring has sprung!
Spring always breathes new life into our surroundings and into our personal lives as well. Make sure you take full advantage of the time before then, so you can watch everything bloom at the right time just as you have always wanted!
Until Next Time!
